The Kentucky-based Riotous Records is a small, independently run record label, the offering of Dave Hyde and his wife Shannon, AKA Alluvia. This little adventure began in early 2008 with one goal in mind...MUSIC! Riotous is about making music, not money. That's why we've dubbed ourselves a "No Budget" label. What's that mean?
It means that we don't see the point in spending money. The more money we as a label spend, the more we have to take back from the band. That's not why we do this. We believe that the most important thing is to make a record that the band and the Riotous label can stand by, and to make it available for people to hear if they want to hear it. Music, not money. There is no money to be made if you want to be fair and honest. If you want to make buckets o' cash, go out and get a real job!
In addition to being a "No Budget" label, Riotous Records is also a "No Limits" label. We don't wanna be weighed down by any particular genre or style, we prefer to keep our minds and ears open to anything that we may enjoy. At the moment, our roster includes a little bit of almost everything, and we're still looking for more! If you think that we might be looking for you, drop us a line.
